Focused Topic: Design trend study & application

Project Brief: As part of a personal project, I dedicated time to researching and analyzing form design trends in home goods from the pre-Covid to post-Covid periods, with a specific focus on identifying emerging patterns in hard goods design.

The images were constructed and colored in Adobe Illustrator.
Due to the impact of the global pandemic, people's lives were changed. With the new “Norm” of working from home, people had adapted living in a more flexible work & life balanced lifestyle at home.
Persona Introduction: Dynamic Home Worker
Persona Analysis: The pandemic led to a shift towards hybrid work and home isolation fostering a need for products that blend in comfortable home settings. Soft design languages with using comfortness are highly sought after.

design pattern for generating a trend tracker for future casting.

As we move past the pandemic, people are readjusting to normal life with a heightened focus on personal wellness, influencing their buying choices. Demand for home products offering diverse functions and environments is surging.

Piggy banks are a familiar sight in homes, but they often stick to traditional designs. I'm determined to revamp them with a modern, cozy aesthetic infused with "organic minimalism" to offer a fresh and appealing twist.

Final Direction
During the design phase, I started with a simplified pig shape to establish proportions. I intentionally minimized pig-like features, such as bony feet and floppy ears, to avoid clichés. Through design studies, I experimented with surface transitions to blend organic and geometric aesthetics.
